New Jersey: Federal OSHA for private employers, PEOSH for public
New Jersey is one of six OSHA-approved state plans where the state plan covers state and local government employees only. Private-sector New Jersey employers are under Federal OSHA — OllieSafe routes private workspaces to the federal recordkeeping module while preserving NJ physical-state context. PEOSH (Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health, jointly administered by the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the NJ Department of Health) handles public-sector enforcement under N.J.S.A. 34:6A-25 et seq.; OllieSafe's public-sector substrate for New Jersey is on the roadmap but not in this launch. CEPA (Conscientious Employee Protection Act, N.J.S.A. 34:19) is the New Jersey whistleblower statute for both public and private employees.
