Illinois: Federal OSHA for private employers, Illinois OSHA for public
Illinois is one of six OSHA-approved state plans where the state plan covers state and local government employees only. Private-sector Illinois employers are under Federal OSHA — OllieSafe routes private workspaces to the federal recordkeeping module while preserving IL physical-state context for AI and written-program retrieval. The Illinois OSHA program (within the Illinois Department of Labor) handles public-sector enforcement under 820 ILCS 219; OllieSafe's public-sector substrate for Illinois is on the roadmap but not in this launch. Pack also carries the 740 ILCS 14 (BIPA) biometric-information-consent overlay for private-sector establishments collecting biometric data.
